Projects of national interest to fostering the development of the school library learning commons in Canada.
School Libraries in Canada (SLiC) has a long and honourable history as the only national publication for the school library sector. The dissolution of the CLA leaves SLiC’s future in question. Canadian Voices for School Libraries is seeking a solution, and supports the continuing publication and ongoing development of this important journal. Connect to School Libraries in Canada
Leading Learning: Standards of Practice for School Library Learning Commons in Canada
The CLA published Leading Learning in 2014, and it has received national and international attention since. The dissolution of CLA puts ongoing development of the Leading Learning project in jeopardy, including publication of the French translation, creating a dedicated web platform, ongoing curation of the exemplars and dedicated support for implementation across the country. Canadian Voices for School Libraries is seeking a solution, and supports the ongoing development of the Leading Learning project. Connect to Leading Learning
Treasure Mountain Canada (TMC) is a bi-annual research symposium and think tank supporting the development of the school library learning commons to address the evolving needs of learning for the future. TMC invites researchers, school library practitioners, education leaders and policy-makers to collaborate and move forward together. Canadian Voices for School Libraries provides an organizational home base for TMC, and seeks opportunities to partner with provincial associations to sponsor future symposia. Connect to TMCanada
